About Bea Lagrisola
Filipino-Canadian musician Bea Lagrisola is a passionate saxophonist who prioritizes exploration and creativity in the music she makes. Splitting her time between the Toronto and Vancouver scenes, she takes pride in her work as a bandleader, composer, arranger and sidewoman. Currently studying Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto, she has studied with acclaimed Canadian Jazz musicians such as Tara Davidson and Allison Au.
With roots in Surrey, British Columbia, Lagrisola loves getting involved in the West-Coast Canadian Jazz scene. Previously she has played lead alto for the VSOSoM Jazz Orchestra at venues such as Pyatt Hall and the Vancouver Playhouse. As a bandleader, she has collaborated with various community series and presented her projects through Infidels Jazz, Canada Parks and Surrey Jazz Nights. In Toronto, she is part of various jazz ensembles at the University of Toronto and has presented her projects at The Rex Hotel Jazz and Blues Bar and The Emmet Ray.
